Finding Lost Items in Calgary is a Lot of Fun

If you are wondering why I work on a reward basis, there is a definite answer. Anyone I work with, has lost something that has great sentimentality and meaning or something costly. Either way, the person having lost it, is already hurting. If I were to charge a flat rate for showing up and then not finding it, it is adding insult to the injury already experienced. No need to pile on. As well, once I have heard the story, I can pretty well predict the outcome. I have searched often enough to know whether or not the item will be found. Very often, I can say, "We will find it!" with confidence and know that my efforts will be rewarded. Other times, I know that I am the last resort and they have looked everywhere else. When and where the item was lost is not known and they ask me to check an area, field, park etc. in hopes it might be there. In cases such as these, I can search the area but will not succeed because it is not there. For these searches I will discuss with the client, what to expect and how I might be compensated.

Of course, it is good to be rewarded as there definitely are costs and time involved in what I do. One of the side benefits of finding a lost item is seeing the absolute joy and elation on the face(s) of my client(s). Tears often roll and the sense of relief is tangible. I even get the occasional hug. That is one of the reasons I do what I do. If I can catch it on camera, all the better. I love doing this job.
